Where could I go to escape from you? Where could I get away from your presence?  If I went up to heaven, you would be there; if I lay down in the world of the dead, you would be there.  If I flew away beyond the east or lived in the farthest place in the west, you would be there to lead me, you would be there to help me.  Psalm 139:7-10

Guest Speaker:  Margaret “Tobi” Flair

Margaret “Tobi” Flair is a life-long resident of Southeast Louisiana.  Currently lives outside of New Orleans, in Luling.  She has been married for 25 years to her husband, Tim, and have 2 children – Ashton, a saint in heaven, and Abbegail, her 15 year old.

Tobi has been a teacher, administrator and director in Education for 30 years, and is at a point in her life where she wants to spend her time in various ministries of the church. Currently she and Tim are marriage Preparation ministers, and Tobi serves as a Eucharistic Minister, Parish School of Religion volunteer, and is part of the Mary & Martha Society, Women’s Enrichment planning team and a Women’s ACTS team leader.

The last 3 years have made her a fierce prayer warrior, where one of her favorite spaces to spend her time is the “War Room” where walls are covered in scripture, an altar is beset with statues of our Blessed Mother, Jesus and St. Joseph, gifted rosaries from Heaven hang on the wall, shelves are stocked with consecration books and books on the lives of the Saints, and pilgrimage memorabilia and journals fill her desk! This is a space where battles are fought in prayer- whether privately, with friends and family who come to visit and pray, or via Facebook live on Kitty Cleveland’s Morning Glories page.

Tobi takes opportunities now to share her family’s story and journey from tragedy to triumph at various retreats, church activities and prayer groups and with young people in schools, and hopes to share the message of how broken sinners who have slept-walked through their faith for years-have been awakened and transformed and strive to become saints in Heaven!

History of Our Lady of Fatima Chapter of Magnificat, San Angelo, Texas

Anita Felan, the founding Coordinator has shared the following history of how Our Lady of Fatima Chapter got started.  Sandy Seidel and Anita traveled to a Magnificat Breakfast in Grapevine, Texas in 2009 and were impressed by the strong spiritual feelings felt at this breakfast which included Holy Mass, reconciliation and personal prayer after the meal. Sandy and Anita shared their thoughts and feelings about this wonderful experience going home. Anita started praying many, many rosaries to our Blessed Mother for guidance and discernment for the possibility of starting a chapter in honor of the Blessed Mother.

In 2009 she mailed the application to form a chapter in San Angelo, Texas. She followed all the guidelines with the help and guidance of Father David Herrera, her parish priest, Bishop Michael Pfeifer, and Daniel and Sandy Seidel, Charismatic Liaisons of the Diocese.

The hardest challenge was to get women to commit to this holy project. After much consultation with the Central Service Team from Louisiana and unceasing prayer, she finally heard Our Mother whisper “Ask Me.”  Our Lady kept bringing her names until she had her Advisory Team:  April McGarry, Ilda Rodarte, Lucy DeLa Cerda, Johanna De Hoyos, Deborah Montano, Betty Rodriguez and Anita as head of the team, all of these ladies were chosen by our Blessed Mary. ALL these prayerful ladies said “YES.”

The Advisory Team held monthly meals and would pray the “Memorare” and the holy rosary with all the ladies attending, for help in selecting the Service Team. The Service Team selected:  Roxanne Adame, Betty Rodriguez, Mary Padilla, Vicky Rivero and Elvira Gonzales.

Each woman on the Advisory and Service Teams was selected by our Blessed Mother, who placed their names in our hearts and minds.

Our Lady of Fatima Chapter had its first Magnificat meal on November 16, 2019 at Holy Angels Parish Hall with 200 women in attendance and listened to our speaker Bishop Michael Sis giving testimony on how the Blessed Mother has worked in his life!
