About Our Speaker: Father Michael Najim
Michael Najim was born in Westerly, RI where he spent his early years with a loving family. On June 23, 2001, the Diocese of Providence ordained him to the priesthood. He began his priestly ministry as a parochial vicar at St. Philip’s
Parish in Greenville, RI, where he served from 2001 to 2004. He was appointed to Our Lady of Providence Seminary in
2004, where he dedicated over a decade to the formation of future priests, while serving as Vocation Director, Formation
Advisor, and Spiritual Director. During this time, he also served as chaplain at LaSalle Academy from 2010 to 2016.
He was then appointed pastor of St. Pius X Parish in Westerly, RI, where he served until 2024. In August 2023, Archbishop Richard Henning appointed him Vicar for Priests for the Diocese of Providence, a role in which he continues to serve. In July 2024, he returned to St. Philip’s Parish in Greenville as pastor while continuing his responsibilities as Vicar for Priests. Fr. Najim is also a published author. In 2009, The Institute of Priestly Formation published his book, Radical Surrender: Letters to Seminarians, offering spiritual insights for men discerning the priesthood. We are privileged to have this very special gifted and talented leader, teacher, speaker and writer, who also has a great sense of humor, share his incredible testimony at our Magnificat Meal.
