These are exciting times that we live in and Magnificat was begun in 1981 for such a time as this. There are now over 100 chapters throughout the United States and its territories and in many foreign countries.

Our Guest Speaker: KC Archer

Karen Cecilia Archer was named after her mother and became affectionately known as KC.  She is a native New Yorker who moved to WV in 8th grade with her parents and younger siblings. Still, she made time to go back and visit her family in Brooklyn often. During high school KC developed a passion for basketball and became team captain her senior year.  Throughout a whirlwind of loss and violence, KC has remained true to her Irish Catholic upbringing. Her foundation of faith was built on generations of her family turning to Christ and sharing their knowledge and prayers.  KC is now a mother of three beautiful young ladies. As a former teacher and basketball coach, she is currently working for the Department of Justice. She enjoys crocheting, bowling with friends, and cheering for her NY Knicks. KC loves to seek God’s beauty in nature by going on adventures throughout the Mountain State.  KC has chosen to share about God’s love and protection.  From knowing about God to needing God, KC’s story is for His glory. Her life is a testament of how God will turn ashes to beauty.

Rosary Blanket of Prayer

Remember our chapter’s commitment to Eucharistic Adoration and to pray the Rosary on the 13th of each month for the intentions of Magnificat, Sanctity of Life, Marriage and Family, and World Peace. Zoom meetings invitations will be sent in advance.

History of The Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapter of Magnificat!

In 1994 Angela Rizzo had just come back “home” to the Catholic Church.  She had been attending a charismatic Episcopal Church for 10 years when the Blessed Mother started to draw her back to her roots.  Angela was hesitant but knew that the Holy Spirit was guiding her.  Only one week after returning, she was reading a book about Medjugorje and the author mentioned a Catholic spirit-filled women’s ministry called “Magnificat.” Angela felt it would be a good way to meet similar Catholic women who had experienced the baptism with the Holy Spirit. That was the beginning of the formation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapter in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York!  It took three years but on May 31st, 1997, the Feast of The Visitation, we held our first meal; a dinner, and Babsie Bleasdel was our speaker all the way from Trinidad!  Well over 200 women showed up and the chapter has been hosting meals now for 28 years!  We also host a yearly week-end retreat for the past 15 years and have been blessed to have many wonderful priests and spirit-filled women lead and teach us!  We are truly blessed!
