About Our Speaker: Maria Thibault
Maria was born in Halifax to Arnold and Joann Johnston. Early on, she lived in Dartmouth; then “grew up” in Cole Harbour with her younger brother, Robert (her only sibling). During high school, she met her “sweetheart,” Shawn. They dated nearly 11 years, lived in 15 different parts of Canada and finally settled and married in 1998 (celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary last April). While in Ontario, Maria gave birth to their first child, Brandon, born with many health issues and is severely disabled. In 2002, they welcomed another son, Zackory, born in Nova Scotia. Eighteen years ago, they put down roots in Fall River becoming parishioners of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, volunteering in schools their children attended, as well as in the community.
In 2009, their lives were forever changed when their youngest son was diagnosed with cancer. There were many driving forces to the terrible events that happened. Life changed. They are not who they “used to be.”

Rosary Blanket of Prayer
Our Chapter is assigned the 28th of the month.
The Magnificat Ministry sponsors a Rosary Blanket of Prayer in response to our Holy Father’s call to prayer. Each Chapter is assigned one day of the month for concentrated prayer, fasting, Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, etc. Of course, we are called to pray daily, but this day should be especially designated. It can be done individually and collectively, as possible. Magnificat women and others who care to join us are invited to take part in this concerted effort. The general intentions are for a New Pentecost, the Church, Magnificat, the sanctity of life, marriage & family, and world peace.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. Luke 1:46-47
