Guest Speaker – Lisa Gennusa Flood
Lisa Gennusa Flood is a wife, mom, and prayer warrior. A cradle Catholic from New Orleans, she says that there was a time in her life when she ” didn’t know what she didn’t know.” Disillusioned by abuse scandals within the church, her family left the church for several years and worshipped at a non-denominational church. They loved Jesus but did not love the Catholic Church and had no intention of returning. It was the Feast of Divine Mercy in 2008 that sparked three generations of her family to return to Catholicism. Through the gift of Ignatian prayer, Lord Teach Me to Pray, she developed an intimate relationship with each member of the Holy Trinity, and she has come to experience the Blessed Mother actively mothering her from Heaven.
Although she is a lawyer by training, Jesus had another plan. She has served in Catholic media for the past 15 years co-hosting “Focus Catholic TV” and co-hosting multiple programs on Catholic Community Radio. Lisa currently co-hosts “Faith and Marriage Today” with Jason Angelette which airs on WLAE and YouTube.
She and her husband, Mandeville dentist, Herb Flood are the proud parents of three sons and are spiritual parents to numerous children.

History of Magnificat Metairie, Mother Chapter
(Archdiocese of New Orleans)
The first Magnificat Breakfast was held in New Orleans, LA on Oct. 7, 1981. During the next 6 years expansion of the ministry took place necessitating division of duties between two teams: a central service team to concentrate on expansion and a Metairie service team to plan the MAGNIFICAT Meal locally and have the privilege of being called the “Mother Chapter.”
