Our Guest Speaker: Ryan Gaudet

Ryan Gaudet is a seminarian and a member of St. George Catholic Church. He was born in Pierre Part, Louisiana, raised in Ascension Parish, and earned his BFA from DePaul University in Chicago. He is currently in his third year of formation at Notre Dame Seminary. Before entering seminary, Ryan spent several years writing for theater and film before moving on to a career in construction at Performance Contractors in Baton Rouge.

After leaving the faith for over thirty years, he had a “St. Paul” moment – a life-changing conversion experience that brought him back to his Catholic faith. Knowing this grace was meant to be shared, Ryan said “yes” to every opportunity to serve. He said “yes” to being a lector, an usher, EMHC, and to joining the choir (although based on his singing, maybe that should have been a “no.”)  He said “yes” to serving on the ACTS team, serving as TMIY Communications Director, distributing the Eucharist to prisoners at Angola, leading confirmation small groups, and to hosting a weekly rosary group in his home. After a lot of prayer and many, many rosaries, he realized that Christ was calling him to give the biggest “yes” of all … to come and follow Him.

Ryan will speak about his remarkable journey of faith from a fallen-away Catholic to a seminarian on the path to priesthood.
