We welcome you to the webpage of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist Chapter of Magnificat in McHenry, Illinois. These are exciting times that we live in and Magnificat was begun in 1981 for such a time as this. There are now over 100 chapters throughout the United States and its territories and in many foreign countries.

Come hear Sr. Jaime’s dynamic personal testimony. She is a religious sister with the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago, a community dedicated to caring for the poor, evangelization, and helping others come to see and love Jesus in the Eucharist. She currently lives and serves at the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels on Chicago’s west side, where she assists with various apostolates serving the poor and helps to run the Mission’s new retreat center. Remember our chapter’s commitment to Eucharistic Adoration and to pray the Rosary on the 25th of each month for the intentions of Magnificat, Sanctity of Life, Marriage and Family, and World Peace.

History of McHenry, IL- Mary, Mother of the Eucharist Chapter of Magnificat

(For the Diocese of Rockford) It all began with the Blessed Mother.  Following a visit to Medjugorje, Annette Baber was drawn to a Texas chapter of Magnificat.  When she moved to Illinois in 2000 Our Lady kept prompting her to found a new chapter.  It started with a simple prayer group of local devout Catholic women.  It was at these prayer meetings that they felt the promptings to begin the process of officially becoming a part of Magnificat. 2002 saw the group anointed by their spiritual director, Fr Robert Sherry. There were 550 at their first prayer breakfast in May. They led Life in the Spirit seminars, weekly prayer meetings and numerous prayer breakfasts over the years. Mary, Mother of the Eucharist chapter continues to serve and lead women to support each other and birth Jesus in our hearts as Our Mother did.
