We welcome you to the webpage of the West Bank/Marrero Chapter of Magnificat in Louisiana! These are exciting times that we live in and Magnificat was begun in 1981 for such a time as this. There are now over 100 chapters throughout the United States and its territories and in many foreign countries.

About Our Speaker:  Sr. Judy Gomila, MSC

Sr. Judith Gomila, MSC, a native of New Orleans, is a Marianite Sister of Holy Cross and no stranger to the
West Bank. She holds a Masters in Theology and Religious Studies from St. Paul University, Ottawa, Canada.
Sr. Judy began her service to the Church as a classroom teacher, then as a Director of Parish Religious Education.
Sister has ministered in the inner city, on the bayou and in the Alaskan bush. She has served her Congregation
in Vocation Ministry and on the Provincial Leadership Team. Sister worked in the Arch of New Orleans as adjunct
staff at Notre Dame Seminary for a “sweet 16 years” and with the Society for the Propagation of the Faith promoting
world mission for over a decade. She has been a consultant and resource person for the USCCB Mission Comm as well as Outreach Coord for the Black and Indian Mission Office, both in Washington, D.C.  Currently, Sister serves the Marianites in Communications and PR. Sister has facilitated retreats, workshops and parish missions from California to Florida and is known for her practical spirituality and storytelling. For the last few years she has been a “regular” with Keepers of the Faith at Holy Spirit in Algiers. Sr. Judy’s hobbies include:  a taster of all things chocolate, the poetry of Jessica Powers, clown ministry, and dancing to that old time rock and roll…as her knees permit!!! Her “go to” Scripture passage is from St. Luke 1:45 ~ Blessed is she who believes that what was spoken to her by the Lord would be fulfilled.

Personal Prayer ministry is available after the meal.

Religious books and CD’s may be available at the meal.
Since the day is designed to speak to the hearts of women, free of distractions, it is respectfully requested that young children not be in attendance.

Tickets to the prayer breakfast are $20.00 and may be obtained from our ticket chairwoman, Cindy Delger (504) 319-6788

Tickets for priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters are complimentary, but reservations are required and this may be done by contacting Cindy Delger at (504) 319-6788.

Remember our chapter’s commitment to Eucharistic Adoration and to pray the Rosary on the 2nd of each month for the intentions of Magnificat, Sanctity of Life, Marriage and Family, and World Peace.
