Magnificat, an international ministry to Catholic women, began in 1981 for such a time as this. There are now over 100 chapters throughout the United States and its territories and in many foreign countries.

Guest Speaker – Marisa Lewis
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
Marisa Lewis is the Coordinator of the Tallahassee Florida Magnificat. She has also served as the Secretary and Treasurer for the chapter. We are delighted that she is sharing her personal testimony with us. Marisa will share her journey of trust in Divine Providence, and how God worked miracles in twenty-four years of a broken marriage. Marisa is a cradle Catholic who grew up in a loving home with her parents and five siblings. She always wanted a lifelong marriage like her parents had. While that didn’t happen, God used every joy, pain and trial to form her into the person she is today. Marisa retired in 2024 after a long career at FAMU where she worked as an Associate Professor/Graduate Director. She is a daily communicant and is involved in many ministries at the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More. She has had an amazing life, filled with an abundance of blessings and special graces. While she is oftentimes overwhelmed by where God leads her, she tries to be obedient and live each day in gratitude, patiently trusting in God’s will. The best is yet to come!

Rosary Blanket of Prayer
Our Chapter is assigned the 18th of the month.
The Magnificat Ministry sponsors a Rosary Blanket of Prayer in response to our Holy Father’s call to prayer. Each Chapter is assigned one day of the month for concentrated prayer, fasting, Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, etc. Of course, we are called to pray daily, but this day should be especially designated. It can be done individually and collectively, as possible. Magnificat women and others who care to join us are invited to take part in this concerted effort. The general intentions are for a New Pentecost, the Church, Magnificat, the sanctity of life, marriage & family, and world peace.
