OUR GUEST SPEAKER: Jennifer Hubbard
Jennifer Hubbard is the executive director of the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, a Connecticut-based nonprofit organization working to promote compassion and healing through human animal connection. The foundation was founded in 2013 to commemorate and honor the life of Jenny’s daughter Catherine Violet Hubbard, a 6- year- old victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy and passionate animal lover who dreamt of someday working with and caring for them.
Jenny is an author and regular contributor to the Magnificat, winning three Catholic Press Association awards. Her first book, ‘Finding Sanctuary’, shares her journey of healing after the loss of Catherine and was recognized by Publishers Weekly among the top ten new releases of Spring 2021 and named 2022’s #1 Memoir by Catholic Associated Media.
She is a widely sought speaker addressing Legatus gatherings, retreats and parish ministries. Jennifer’s remarks are not limited to in person appearances as she is a regular guest on Spirit Catholic Radio Network’s Spirit Mornings Live, where her message reaches thousands in America’s heartland. Her talk, Walking in Confidence, encourages audiences of all ages to trust in God’s promise of provision, protection, and healing.
Jenny is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Communications and was honored in 2021 as an Alumni Achievement Award recipient. In addition to her writing and work at the sanctuary, Jenny is a mother of two: Frederick and Catherine.

HISTORY of Mary Undoer of Knots Chapter
Magnificat Suffolk County- Our Lady Undoer of Knots, began with a dream over 25 years ago and became an official Chapter in 2016. Over the years, through attending the Nassau County Magnificat events and some of the conferences in New Orleans and Washington, DC, a Suffolk County Chapter finally came together with a group of faith filled women with complimentary gifts and zeal for the Holy Spirit. Our Chapter was formed to officially move us into the phase of formation. During this time, we gathered women to pray at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island in Manorville, NY, run by the Montfort Fathers. We called ourselves, “Heart and Hands”, praying to serve God’s women with Mary’s heart and Martha’s hands. (cf. Luke 10:38-42) We hosted breakfasts as a prayer group and enjoyed gathering together in prayer and praise. In the summer of 2016, one of our members and her daughter, made a cross country trip from New York to California- visiting churches, Holy Doors of Mercy, and praying the rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet daily for our church, our nation, and especially for our Magnificat Chapter. On that pilgrimage a beautiful icon was found of the Visitation in a Byzantine Church in Illinois. When I contacted the artist, she told me that she had a hand-painted icon of the Visitation that was just being released from a museum. She was happy to share it with us. Our core team took the icon as a sign from Our Blessed Mother that soon our chapter would be official! We pray that you will consider becoming involved in Magnificat to partner with us in this ministry. May our souls unite with the prayer of Mary’s heart as we sing; “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For He who is mighty has done great things and HOLY IS HIS NAME!” (Luke 1:46,49).
