GUEST SPEAKER: Deacon Keith Kolodziej

Deacon Keith Kolodziej serves at St. Peter Chanel Church in Roswell, Georgia, and is the liaison to the Archbishop for the Atlanta Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

A dynamic teacher and evangelist, Deacon Keith is in great demand as a speaker and retreat director. His passions include his family, Jesus, music, sports and travel.

Deacon Keith was born in Detroit, Michigan, to a middle-class family of Polish heritage, attended Catholic high school, and received a B.S. from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Corporate life in the food industry relocated him and his wife Lynn to Ohio, Florida and North Carolina, where they settled with their four children for thirteen years. It was in the Diocese of Charlotte, North Carolina, that he was ordained to the permanent diaconate in 1995.

In 2000 Deacon Keith made a final career move with his family to Atlanta. He received a Master of Theological Studies from the Atlanta extension site of Spring Hill College at Holy Spirit Church, and served for three years as Director of Liturgy for the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, Georgia before joining the staff of St. Peter Chanel.

In August, 2022, he said, “It’s a time of urgency. The harvest is full. The world is in need so much of release, of healing, of deliverance, of faith, hope and joy, and [the Lord] needs laborers, people like you and I to go out and spread the good word and bring what the world needs so desperately.” Deacon Keith has lived out this calling for many years within the church, as well as through service to the poor and marginalized in the Kairos prison ministry, Jamaican mission work, and street ministry to the homeless in Atlanta.

HISTORY of Joyful Visitation Chapter of Magnificat

(for the Archdiocese of Atlanta)

Olga Myers attended her first Magnificat Breakfast while visiting her sister in Tampa, Florida in 1990. She returned to her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia filled with zeal and joy. After sharing her experience with two other women, Jan Nerone and Elyse O’Kane, they began to pray and pray and pray for discernment of God’s will in bringing Magnificat to Atlanta.

After going through formation and receiving the approval of the local bishop, the first working meeting was held on June 17, 1991. This was followed by a Presentation Tea on February 8, 1992 to introduce Magnificat Joyful Visitation Chapter to the area and to help others discover how they could be a part of this joyful ministry.

The first Magnificat Breakfast was held on May 2, 1992 at All Saints Catholic Church. The speaker was Mary Welch Rogers and over 400 women attended. The first Service Team members were Olga Myers, Jan Nerone, Ann Marie Hendriks and Judy Guilfoil. Fr. William Hickey was their Spiritual Advisor and Elyse O’Kane was placed in charge of the Music Ministry.
