We welcome you to the webpage of Broward County FL — Handmaids of the Lord Chapter of Magnificat. These are exciting times that we live in and Magnificat was begun in 1981 for such as time as this. There are now over 100 chapters throughout the United States and its territories and in many foreign countries.

Guest Speaker: Deacon Michel du Chaussee
Michel du Chaussee is a permanent deacon currently assigned to St. Bartholomew Parish in Miramar, Florida. He was born in Trinidad where he attended Catholic primary and secondary schools, graduating from St. Mary’s College, Port of Spain in 1977. He has a wife, Eva, whom he married in 1983 and two children, Marc and Andrea. In 1989, they migrated to the United States and settled in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He is an accountant by profession and has worked in both large and small companies holding several senior positions. In December 2008, he was ordained a permanent deacon in the Archdiocese of Miami along with fourteen wonderful (but all slightly crazy) brothers in Christ.
In addition to the liturgical and sacramental roles he has at weekly masses, baptisms, weddings and funerals, he conducts Scripture courses at his parish, speaks at Parish Renewal retreats three times a year and facilitates along with Eva at the Engaged Encounter retreat hosted at St. Bartholomew’s Parish under the auspices of the Family Life Office of the Archdiocese.
But whether it is family & friends, work, ministry or recreation, he sums it all up with one word: PASSION. He cannot have a casual interest in anything. It always develops into a PASSION and turns him into an avid collector, researcher and student. He is passionate about Christ and his Church!

Please join us in our Rosary Blanket of Prayer on the 10th of every month, as we lift up our hearts to the Lord for the intentions of New Pentecost, Magnificat, Sanctity of Life, our Beloved Priests and Religious and Families.
