Guest Speaker: Dr. Victoria Musey

“For He who is mighty has done great things for me. And holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.” Luke 1: 49-50

Victoria Musey is a physician who has practiced endocrinology in metro Atlanta for many years. A native of Ghana, West Africa, after high school she went to Ontario, Canada, for college and there earned her medical degree. Raised as a Methodist, she entered the Catholic Church before she and her husband, Paul, were married. They have raised four boys.

Through the Catholic charismatic movement, she fully committed her life to Jesus Christ in 1983 through the grace of the Holy Spirit. She and Paul were members of the Servants of the Lord prayer community based at Corpus Christi Church, Stone Mountain. They have also been active as presenters on Marriage Encounter weekends and at the local parishes of Sts. Peter and Paul and Our Lady of the Assumption.

She will share the challenges she has faced as a mother, physician and wife and how through God’s bountiful grace and mercy, life’s difficulties have helped her grow closer to God. In difficult times, she has turned to the Scriptures and she has experienced the reassuring power and truth found in Psalm 125 that “the Lord is round about her both now and forever.”

Personal Prayer ministry is available after the meal by the Magnificat Service Team.
Confessions will be available at the end of the meal.
Religious books and CDs are available at the meal.

Since the day is designed to speak to the hearts of women, free of distractions, it is respectfully requested that young children not be in attendance.

HISTORY of Joyful Visitation Chapter of Magnificat

[for the Archdiocese of Atlanta]

Olga Myers attended her first Magnificat Breakfast while visiting her sister in Tampa, Florida in 1990. She returned to her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia filled with zeal and joy. After sharing her experience with two other women, Jan Nerone and Elyse O’Kane, they began to pray and pray and pray for discernment of God’s will in bringing Magnificat to Atlanta.

After going through formation and receiving the approval of the local bishop, the first working meeting was held on June 17, 1991. This was followed by a Presentation Tea on February 8, 1992 to introduce Magnificat Joyful Visitation Chapter to the area and to help others discover how they can be a part of this joyful ministry.

The first Magnificat Breakfast was held on May 2, 1992 at All Saints Catholic Church. The speaker was Mary Welch Rogers and over 400 women attended. The first Service Team members were Olga Myers, Jan Nerone, Ann Marie Hendriks and Judy Guilfoil. Fr. William Hickey was their Spiritual Advisor and Elyse O’Kane was placed in charge of the Music Ministry.
